The goal of the petition was just to reach 5,000. It's nearing that number, but hopefully the responses will go above and beyond. No one's holding their breath, but hopefully they will do a follow-up segment offering more information with less bias. The questions at the end of the video are so very interesting, aren't they? Medical "experts" told NBC the two questions to ask midwives before having a home birth are:

"Do you have malpractice insurance?" and
"Do you have a collaboration agreement with a doctor or hospital?"

Very frustrating, but at the same time, some of it was true. Some people do choose a homebirth because they don't think and research for themselves. I feel it may be these same people that do not bat an eye about naming their child after a celebrity's baby. Or have to have a certain color of cell phone to match their car. (Sorry if that applies to anyone, I only wish to point out that some may not think seriously, or too seriously, about "fluff".)

I also wonder how the midwife let her labor for four days before considering a transfer? That doesn't seem logical. Someone left a comment, somewhere, that NBC didn't note the statistics of how many babies are stillborn in the hospital with constant fetal monitoring. I know a mother who was on the monitor *as her uterus ruptured* and there was nothing the hospital could do for the baby. Where is that statistic??
